This space is defined by a double-height wall finished in textured paint, adding depth and character.
A thoughtful detail within the sit-out is the placement of potted plants, introducing a softer, lived-in quality to the semi-exterior environment.
The sit-out receives consistent north light, which gently permeates into the living and dining areas. It is further enhanced by a balcony attached to the son’s bedroom above, visually connecting the upper and lower levels and reinforcing a sense of spatial continuity across the home.

Rooted in simplicity, the bedroom exudes a sense of calm and understated elegance. The continuous use of teak veneer brings warmth and visual harmony, while rounded solid-wood details soften the clean lines of the furniture. A vibrant armchair adds a playful burst of color, an inviting nook that balances comfort with character.

The mandir, located adjacent to the living space, is designed as a warm and sacred space. The double-leaf door features traditional motifs such as the lotus, Swastik, and Om, which are intricately carved. Part of the door is finished in rich red sapele veneer, while the remaining surfaces are finished in PU paint. Fluted glass panels are incorporated into the door to create a semi-open feel, allowing light to pass through while maintaining a sense of privacy.

•Om Karani Residence•

The entry opens into a compact drawing room that serves as a welcoming foyer, seamlessly leading to a spacious east-facing verandah. The drawing room is subtly separated from the informal living area by a thoughtfully designed partition featuring symmetrically arranged solid wood sections complemented by muted wallpaper. This elegant divider creates a refined threshold between the formal and informal zones while maintaining visual connectivity.

Beyond the partition lies the informal living space, where a striking TV unit forms the focal point. The unit is clad in natural stone and enhanced with a geometric plywood pattern finished in PU paint, adding texture and contemporary character. A long console beneath provides ample concealed storage, ensuring a clutter-free environment. Large windows flanking the TV unit on both sides allow abundant natural light and cross ventilation, making the space bright, airy, and comfortable throughout the day.

Om Karani Residence

Total Built-up area:-13,224 sq.ft.
Area: - 5,400 sq.ft. (Third and fourth floor)
Project type: - Architecture & Interiors
Project timeline: - 8 months (Interiors)

Project Location: Snehita Hills, Peeramcheru, Hyderabad, Telangana 50009. India.

Nestled in Snehitha Hills near Narsingi TGPA, this 5,400 sq. ft. duplex unfolds across the third and fourth floors—designed as a serene, light-filled residence. With its main entry on the third floor, the home opens into a compact foyer that flows into an east-facing verandah, inviting in abundant daylight and ventilation.

From the warm tones of cherry red sapele veneer to the finely crafted wooden partitions, every transition is thoughtful and refined. Double-height volumes add a sense of openness—most notably above the dining area, where a sculptural folded plate staircase with CNC-carved sandstone cladding becomes a striking focal point.

A semi-open sit-out bathed in soft north light bridges the common areas and the office, bringing in greenery and a sense of calm continuity. Spaces like the pooja room anchor the home culturally, while the office and bedrooms reflect a subtle neoclassical language with bespoke detailing.

Upstairs, the private spaces are minimal yet rich in materiality—teak, wenge, and solid wood elements coming together to create warmth and cohesion. The family lounge extends into a spacious verandah through bifold doors, blurring the line between indoors and outdoors.

A home where craftsmanship meets comfort, and every detail tells a story.
