Classic moldings, dark wood paneling, and natural light that changes the mood of the room by the hour.

That’s the core of AURUM. A living space built on effortless contrast.

It’s a dialogue between heavy, grounded materials and delicate, classical details.

The walls carry traditional moldings—elegant and quiet. We anchored that softness with deep, rich wood and crisp, fluted joinery.

The dark wood paneling gives the room a sense of gravity and weight, while the sheer curtains, organic rugs, and curved seating keep the space breathable and lived-in.

It’s a room designed specifically for the golden hour. When the sun hits, the textures do all the heavy lifting.

Lime plaster, walnut, a wall full of things the client actually owns.

That’s the brief for MITTI. Not in those words, but that’s what it comes down to. A house that feels like it belongs to someone specific, not to a mood board.

The walls are lime plaster — it breathes, it ages, it picks up light in a way paint never does.
Important in a country where summers hit 45 degrees and walls need to do more than look good.
The joinery is solid walnut, dark and grainy, the kind of wood that gets better the longer it sits in a room. The coffee table is a single walnut slab on curved legs.

The pendant is jute — rough on the outside, warm underneath. The niche wall is just plaster with depth, carved out to hold objects that have a story.

Nothing is trying too hard.

SINQ, Goa — The Lobby.

The restaurant naturally draws attention.
The lobby had a tougher role — it had to set the tone before anyone even sat down.

A wood grid wall, a travertine counter, a geometric floor inlay — all tied together with the same palette as the dining space. Deliberately so. We didn’t want that disconnect where you feel like you’ve stepped into a completely different place.

That kind of continuity isn’t accidental. It’s a decision made early on, and then carried through every material, every finish.

Rattan cane, walnut, sandstone, travertine — materials we kept going back to because they made sense for the space, not because they were trending.

Goa already has atmosphere. Our job was to design something that didn’t fight it — a room that felt warm and grounded the moment you walked in. The arched screens, the travertine counter, the pendant clusters — all of it came from asking what the space actually needed, not what looked good on a moodboard.

Brick. Concrete. Vines. Now after dark.

The night render shows you what the day never could — how the perforated screens would have glowed from within, how the uplights would have made the brick feel alive, how this building would have owned its street at night.

Sections and Renders are all that remains of this one.

Brick. Concrete. Vines.

Some projects never make it to site. This is one of them.

The perforated brick screens, the arched opening, the creepers slowly taking over the facade — it all lived on paper and on screen. Never on the ground.

But we still think about this one.

The kind of building that gets better with age. That belongs to its street. That a community would have grown into over years.

Maybe someday.

We’ve spent decades building Indian spaces with a Western blueprint.

Wrong light assumptions. Imported materials. Sealed interiors that fight the climate instead of working with it.

India has its own design language — rooted in lime plaster and kota stone, in verandahs and courtyards, in the way our light falls at 4pm in October and doesn’t apologise for being golden.

The best spaces we’ve designed didn’t start with a mood board. They started with a question — what does this place want to be?

That answer is never Copenhagen. It’s never a Dubai hotel lobby.

It’s always here.
