Brick by brick, stone by stone.

Constructed using the old ways of binding hand chipped stone with chuna, this village retreat like was designed keeping in mind the rugged, sparse landscape that surrounds it. Many, independent units open into central, communal spaces to maximize interaction with the landscape while being stark structures across it. The indigenous Chhaija stone and old-school exposed stone masonry make for a naturally insulated, zero-maintainence structure that is built to last through harsh desert conditions.

One of the perks of being an architect is to build spaces with views like this one.
Nestled amidst the Aravalis on one side and expansive scrubland on the other, this is a project very close to our hearts. The idea was to create a space that interacts with the rugged beauty of the landscape, while being an interesting juxtaposition against it.

Seldom does a client give full creative liberty to an architect to manifest their design. We are grateful to our client for being patient as our a vision takes shape. Cannot wait for this to conclude.

Designed and manufactured for a luxury hotel, the 'DANDELION', with a diameter of over 6 feet, is an imposing, statement light installation. The brass body washed with gold and crystal encrusted ends lend it understated opulence.
