Project: Mayookham
Client: Mr.Praveen
Location:Meenangadi, Wayanad
Rooted in the elegant vernacular of Kerala architecture, this concept creates a serene, grounded sanctuary that seamlessly dialogues with modern simplicity. The design relies on crisp, clean white walls to form a luminous, minimalist backdrop that beautifully accentuates the rich tones of hand-carved teakwood columns. Grounding the space is the vibrant, artisanal charm of handmade Athangudi tiles, introducing subtle patterns and a smooth, premium texture underfoot. By capturing soft natural light through deep verandah eaves rather than a traditional central courtyard, the layout maintains a compact, streamlined flow while retaining a timeless, heritage-inspired warmth.
