Exploring India’s First Renewable Energy Expressway – Samruddhi Mahamarg 🍃
We had the opportunity to visit India’s first Samruddhi Mahamarg (Nagpur–Mumbai Super Communication Expressway) — a visionary infrastructure project that reflects the country’s growing commitment to sustainability.
This world-class expressway connects Mumbai and Nagpur while integrating renewable energy technologies throughout its design. Along the route, we observed wind turbines and solar panels strategically installed to generate clean energy.
The highway lighting system operates on solar power, reducing the dependency on the conventional grid. Even the toll plazas are designed with solar energy systems for both operations and real-time monitoring, showcasing a perfect example of smart and sustainable engineering.
The expressway is surrounded by greener landscapes, reflecting a balance between modern development and environmental responsibility.
A clear sign that India is driving forward not just in connectivity, but also in renewable innovation and sustainable design.
Highlights from the Visit:
✅ Clean energy integration through solar and wind systems.
✅ Solar-powered lighting and toll plaza monitoring.
✅ A green corridor promoting eco-friendly transport.
✅ Model for sustainable expressway development in India.
✅ Connecting two major cities — Mumbai and Nagpur — through clean energy.
