Congratulations to Ben on a fantastic achievement!

We're delighted to celebrate Ben graduating from University of Plymouth with a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering, alongside a Certificate of Professional Industrial Experience.

Ben completed a placement year with us during his studies, and we're pleased that he returned earlier this year to join the team full-time as a site engineer. It's been great to see his hard work and commitment rewarded with such an excellent result.

We've gathered quotes from multiple suppliers, carefully selected contractors, and worked alongside Bridge Civil Engineering, whose industry knowledge, ground-level mapping, contacts, and ongoing support have been invaluable. They've even provided equipment for the site and have always been just a phone call away when we've needed them. 👏

📋 Planning the Right Way
Securing planning permission has been another huge milestone. A massive thank you to Morris Architectural Design Morris Architectural Design Ltd for helping us navigate the process and turn our vision into an approved plan. ✅

💧 Overcoming Challenges
No project is without its hurdles! From resolving drainage issues to carrying out soakaway tests, every challenge has helped ensure this space is built properly and will stand the test of time.

💻 Bringing the Vision to Life
Behind the scenes, John has even been learning CAD design to create detailed visuals, helping everyone see exactly what the finished space will look like. 🎉

Projects like this don't happen overnight. They take dedication, collaboration, patience, and countless hours of hard work before a single digger arrives.

Hennock Community Primary School and Preschool Hennock Parish Council Mid-Devon Advertiser

Great to see this project moving forward at Hennock Community Primary School.

It’s a really positive scheme that will improve the outdoor space for pupils and make it more usable year-round. Good to see the plans also dealing with the existing drainage issues on site, which should make a real difference day to day.

Well done to everyone involved in getting planning permission sorted. A great result for the school and the local community, and it’ll be good to see it come to life.

We supported the project in the early stages with design input, drainage and general engineering guidance, and we’re continuing to provide support as it progresses.

A huge congratulations to one of our Site Engineers, Lewis, who has officially completed his Degree Apprenticeship.

Lewis joined Bridge in 2020 after completing a Level 3 Civil Engineering course at Exeter College. He started with us on a Level 4 HNC Apprenticeship, combining day‑release study with four days a week working on site as part of our delivery teams. Over this time, Lewis continued to progress academically while developing his skills and experience as a Site Engineer across a range of projects.

At the end of his Level 4 apprenticeship, Lewis made the decision to continue his development by enrolling on a Degree Apprenticeship, completing block‑release study at University of Exeter alongside his full‑time role at Bridge. Balancing site responsibilities with exams and coursework over several years has not been easy, but Lewis has shown real commitment and determination throughout.

This is a fantastic achievement and a great example of the opportunities available through apprenticeships at Bridge. Well done, Lewis. We look forward to celebrating your graduation later this year and seeing your continued progression within the business.
