A hospitality retreat imagined for the misty hills of Kakkadampoyil, Kerala.
Inspired by Malabar’s vernacular architecture, the design breaks into smaller pavilions connected through gardens, water, and shaded pathways—allowing the landscape to remain the protagonist.

Nestled within the lush hills of Kakkadampoyil, Kerala, this hospitality retreat is designed as a quiet extension of the surrounding landscape. Inspired by the vernacular architecture of Malabar, the project uses sloping thatched roofs, laterite stone, timber decks, and shaded verandas to create warm, nature-rooted spaces. The buildings are gently arranged along the natural contours, connected by gardens, water bodies, and pathways that encourage slow movement and moments of pause. Blurring the boundary between architecture and landscape, the retreat offers an immersive experience where guests reconnect with nature and the calm rhythms of the hills.
