What does it really mean for a home to be “smart”?

For an architect, it’s not about adding technology for the sake of it. It’s about understanding the small, repetitive moments of everyday life and finding ways to make them simpler.

The entrance is one of them.

With the Qubo Smart Video Doorbell (Qubo World), a simple doorbell becomes more than a ring at the door. Video calls, two way communication, person detection, 24×7 recording, cloud-backed footage and a complete visitor log, all from wherever you are.

Because good design isn’t always about adding more.

Sometimes, it’s about removing a few unnecessary steps from the way we live.

Qubo Smart Video Doorbell: designed for thoughtfully designed homes.

Refuge - corners in home to breath

A 3,000 sq.ft. residence in an Art Deco building on Marine Drive, Mumbai.

We stripped the house down to the ground and rebuilt it completely, while keeping the character of the Art Deco building as an important part of the design.

The idea was to take the language of the building and interpret it in a more contextual and Indian way — through colour, texture, materials and furniture. Lime-washed walls, customised side tables and furniture designed and made in-house at The Last Goldfish Workshop come together to create a warm and lived-in home.

A special shoutout to our incredible client, Prachi, for trusting us through the entire process, giving us the freedom to explore and being such a strong support system throughout the project. It made the entire process that much more special.

A spatial walk-through of The Last Goldfish Design Studio’s reimagination of a dream.

A dream that first transpired in the mind of our incredible client, Prachi - and one we were fortunate enough to recreate, spatial.

Tiny glimpses of what transpired.

Deco, Kitchen

We wanted to explore patina, brass and metal, introducing a little post-war Art Deco gold into an otherwise subdued postmodern interior. A subtle nod to the building’s Art Deco roots, interpreted through a more pared-back, contemporary lens.

A special shoutout to our incredible client, Prachi, for trusting us through the entire process, giving us the freedom to explore and being such a strong support system throughout the project. It made the entire process that much more special.
