STAND We at STaND create. Architecture, Interiors, Furniture and Product

We look forward to welcoming you here... It is our passion to create that experience.

WHY
Everyone deserves to experience design to more fully perceive the uniqueness of their environment. The STaND studio is an effort to bring together our shared vision to keep this passion and curiosity alive. We see such a space as a continuum of vibrant experimentation and learning. WHO
Siddhant Tikkoo and Nikita D’Silva
Our formative years were spent at an architecture and design school of ne

w thought (Balwant Sheth School of Architecture), where individuality was encouraged to be explored and expressed. As two diametrically diverse thinkers, we seek to fuse our individual thought processes. Behind the obvious simplicity of our displays, is a plethora of design philosophies and questions, seeking to reach an equilibrium. WHAT
At STaND, we prefer to approach our design process organically, whether it involves visiting new places, working with our hands, attending workshops or sketching outdoors. We enjoy working on almost all things design: Architecture, Interiors, Furniture and Product. We work to ensure that our designs are contextual, functional and sustainable.

We always make it a point to think about our goals and progress at the start of the year, but this year when our Brand Lead recommended a mid year reset; we thought it was a brilliant idea.

Six months is a surprisingly powerful checkpoint. It’s close enough to your goals that they still feel actionable, but far enough to reflect on what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change. Instead of waiting for another January, it gave us the space to realign with intention.

Tell us in the comments if you’d like us to share more details on how exactly we conducted this reset across 3 phases.

Vivek vivekparmar(☮️➕) — Already on strike three for accidentally damaging studio furniture, but we forgive him because he somehow turns our rough ideas into stunning 3D visualisations.

Anchal Anchal_Singh — Usually sends “I’m almost there” while she’s still at home, but nobody obsesses over perfect renders quite like she does.

Sakshi Sakshiiiii🌻 — Our self-appointed office DJ who also happens to weave colours, materials and textures into moodboards that just feel right.

Kirti Kirti Lokhande — Takes one bite of your lunch and somehow half of it disappears. Also the person you want around when deadlines start getting scary, her best work is under pressure.

Siddhi Ar.Siddhi Sanas — Could probably open a museum with everything on her desk. Thoughtful, curious and always the first to dig deep before making a design decision.

Dhanashree Dhanashree Basrur — Communicates fluently in GIFs, memes and reaction stickers, and can get things done before anyone else even notices.

Devanshi Devanshi Shah — Fiercely protective of her window seat and even more protective of the tiny details everyone else misses.

Ninad Ninad Chavan — Has thousands of unread emails and somehow sleeps peacefully. Also possesses a rare talent for solving troubles by taking on ambitious projects.

Dhruv Dhruv Rupani — Takes group photos like it’s a full-scale production, and is an incredibly sharp visual storyteller. Thanks for these pictures Dhruv!

Anil ji knows everyone from the building cat to senior management. The dependable backbone of the studio, making sure all of us are looked after.

Here’s to the people who make the studio brighter, louder, calmer, messier, funnier and infinitely better every single day.

If you’re new here, hey! We’re the co-founders of a narrative-led design studio based in Mumbai.

Thank you for finding a spark in our work and joining us on this journey.

What began as a friendship has grown, over nine years of grit, curiosity, and a healthy amount of tomfoolery, into a practice that has given us the privilege of designing spaces for people, families, and brands we deeply admire.

At STaND, we believe every space has a story waiting to be told. Our work is about translating lived experiences, memories, rituals, and aspirations into spaces that feel deeply personal and impossible to separate from the people who inhabit them.

If you’re looking to design a home, a workplace, or a brand experience, we’d love to have a conversation.

And if you’re simply here because you enjoy thoughtful design, this is where we share everything we’re learning along the way.

We’re so glad you’re here.

Here’s something you don’t know about our recent project, Nishlin.

Most of our projects find their names through an idea, a material, or a feeling that captures the essence of the home.

This project broke that tradition. Because this wasn’t just another client; it was family. We designed ‘Nishlin’ for Nik’s sister, Nishika, and her husband, Linford.

What made Nishlin even more memorable was bringing together four incredibly creative minds.

Sid and Nik approached it as architects. Nishika, a creative director with an instinctive eye for bold colours, brought a strong visual perspective to the project. And Linford, a musician, reminded us that the same sensitivity to rhythm, balance and emotion that shapes music can shape a home too.

One of the happiest surprises came for Nik herself. She went into the project assuming she’d naturally think most like her sister. Instead, she found herself constantly agreeing with Linford. He instinctively understood architectural drawings, spatial decisions and the thinking behind them, making every conversation richer.

Sometimes the best creative collaborations are the ones you never see coming. And that’s exactly how we’ll always remember Nishlin; not just as a home, but as a project shaped by the people behind it.

Why are there bottles in the stationery cabinet? 👀

Because by evening, this study becomes the home’s parlour.

Designed around two entirely different rituals, this bespoke cabinet transforms with the day. Behind its doors is a fully functional bar, with openable shutters that tuck away neatly to create an unobstructed serving counter and easy access to bottles and glassware.

By day, the very same cabinet serves as a meticulously planned stationery archive with every inch calibrated to house swatch books, paper samples, ribbon collections, colour decks, and the countless material references that make up the design process of a creative director.

Nothing is incidental. Every shelf, divider and drawer was dimensioned around objects that are used daily, ensuring they’re always within reach, effortlessly organised and beautifully stored.

Custom furniture is never about adding more storage but about designing storage around a life that’s actually lived, making every square inch work harder, feel calmer, and disappear into the rhythm of everyday use.

Designed for a couple who genuinely loves to cook, the kitchen at Nishlin was conceived as a space where functionality takes precedence over everything else. Every element was carefully considered and meticulously planned to support the rituals of daily cooking, hosting, and experimentation.

Long before the cabinetry was fabricated, we spent considerable time detailing the elevations, mapping out exactly what would live where. From cookware and utensils to a wide collection of international ingredients, every shelf and cabinet was designed with a specific purpose in mind, allowing the kitchen to remain organised, intuitive, and effortless to use.

The material palette was intentionally restrained, with neutral tones creating a calm backdrop that keeps the focus on utility and everyday use rather than visual distraction.

One of our favourite details, however, lies beneath your feet. The flooring features a custom-designed pattern that became a project within the project. The entire floor was stripped and done twice to achieve the desired outcome. Each tile was individually selected, custom-cut, and laid according to a precise composition. Achieving the pattern required exceptional craftsmanship, with careful attention to cutting, levelling, alignment, and installation.

It’s the kind of detail that may not immediately announce itself, but rewards closer observation. Swipe through these images to have a closer look.
