Kōji Enokura, Intervention Ratio A - No.5, 1978
Oil painting on cotton cloth
A few years ago at Art Basel, our client encountered Kōji Enokura’s work for the first time. He remembers entering the room and being struck by the smell of oil, the unprimed canvases and the wooden logs that had left their impressions upon them. The experience stayed with him long after he left.
Years later, one of Enokura’s works found its place in the dining room of his home.
This relationship between wood, oil and surface inspired the charred timber roof structure of the client’s home.
