The proposed real estate development at Mansarovar Depot on the Jaipur Metro line is located within the depot premises. The development comprising retail, hospitality and commercial space in a large integrated project is planned above and around the stabling lines.
Two/ three basements with a capacity to park upto three thousand vehicles are planned for the project. The first phase of the project has been executed. This incorporates two levels of basement for over six hundred cars under eleven trains that shall be stabled at the ground level.
The development above the stabling deck is proposed as an architectonic structure comprising two two towers, one housing a budget hotel and the other commercial space that are linked by a large veirendeel girder. The veirendeel girder that is three floors deep spans across the width of the stabling shed and rests atop the hotel swimming pool at one end. It is hoped that this structure, if constructed, would provide a much needed architectural/ spatial identity to south Jaipur that is presently sorely lacking.
The mall, hotel and commercial tower all spill onto the top of the stabling deck fifteen floors beneth the veirendeel girder. This plaza hosts a bevy of recreational, social and eating options. Apart from the captive clientele that the immediate development provides, it is hoped that the fact that Mansarovar is emerging as a transport hub/ junction shall feed this recreational space. The depot stands at the junction of the commencement of the Metro line and the start of the BRT.
Development in the future is anticipated to explode along the Ajmer Road that touches one tip of this project. In times to come, this shall be as central to Jaipur as the Qutab Minar is to Greater Delhi/ National Capital Region today.
