VAULTED HOUSE , the stone age home

Responding to the rural context and the skill set of the local workforce, rubble masonry was chosen as the primary building material. Both economical and contextual, the stone was sourced from quarries within 25 kilometers of the site. To meet the tight timeline, the structure was designed with a uniform span, allowing masons to repeat a standard section with ease. Above this, a brick vault—constructed without formwork—brought height and climatic comfort while establishing the central architectural gesture of the project.

Set against the Aravalis on the outskirts of Jaipur, in Sardarpura village, this project was envisioned as a second home—a quiet farm stay where the family could slow down and spend time together.

"Haveli 72" — Emerging from Earth, Reaching for the Sky

Haveli is an ode to traditional Indian homes that embraces courtyards, verandahs, and passive ventilation as integral design elements. Haveli is not just a house—it's a spatial experience that brings people, climate, and culture into harmony.

⁠This haveli, built on a 450 sqm plot nestled in the dense urban fabric of NCR. Designed around the central court and manifested in rammed earth, this home doesn’t just sit on the land—it emerges from it and reaches to the sky, reflecting a deep respect for material honesty, thermal comfort, and timeless aesthetics.
