On 3rd July, the Federation of Housing Societies, in association with the Government Co-operative Department, organized an awareness program on the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana to help housing societies and residents understand the benefits of rooftop solar adoption.

Mr. Samir Gandhi was invited as the expert speaker and delivered an insightful presentation covering the scheme's key benefits, recent policy updates, and the financial incentives available for both individual homeowners and cooperative housing societies. He explained the subsidy structure in detail and highlighted how societies can benefit from adopting solar energy, resulting in long-term savings and greater energy sustainability.

An important part of the session focused on the Grid Support Charges that will be applicable from March 2026. Mr. Samir Gandhi explained their implications and emphasized the importance of timely adoption of rooftop solar systems to maximize the benefits under the current policy.

The interactive session witnessed active participation from representatives of housing societies, with several discussions around implementation, eligibility, and practical aspects of the scheme. Such initiatives are instrumental in creating awareness and encouraging the transition towards clean and sustainable energy.
