PM Surya Ghar 2.0.. Anticipated

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy MNRE is now preparing a major change in the name of PM Surya Ghar 2.0 Phase 2.
The aim is to bring the PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme to 1 crore homes.

In the previous phase, the focus was only on installing solar panels.
But in Phase 2, the customer's responsibility, technology options, and the basic grid infrastructure are being completely restructured in a new way.

🌟 Key Changes in PM Surya Ghar 2.0

- Performance-based subsidy: Now, financial assistance will not be based on "how many capacity panels are installed." Assistance will be provided based on *how much electricity is generated, how well the system is maintained, and how much service the grid provides*.
- *Battery storage included*: Now, *battery energy storage system BESS* and *hybrid inverter* will also receive central government assistance. Extra solar electricity generated during the day can be stored and used at night.
- *Different subsidies*: Financial assistance will now be provided at different levels based on *house income, location, and consumer category*.
- *Virtual Metering and AI Quality Check*: The government wants to implement *virtual metering* and *AI quality check*. This will monitor the system and make electricity distribution easier.
- *Guarantee of electricity production*: EPC companies will have to create modular systems that have the *facility for future expansion* and *guarantee of electricity production*.
