Five apartments, one compact urban plot in Pune. The question we began with was: how do you design a building where every single home feels entirely unique to the people living inside?
When we started working on this project, the tight footprint meant we didn't have the luxury of sprawling outwards. The challenge was to avoid a "cookie-cutter" stack of apartments while still delivering a highly personal, high-end lifestyle tailored to each client's distinct personality.
Our solution was to split the building’s DNA in two.
Anchoring the rear of the structure is a standardized core—including kitchens and bedrooms—that handles the functional layout efficiently across all five floors. In contrast, the front of the building is treated as a fluid, dynamic canvas. By freeing up this street-facing zone, we were able to completely customize the spatial experience, volume, and outdoor connection for every apartment. This zone houses the living and dining areas along with a multi-purpose room that is positioned uniquely on each floor. Each resident has adapted this space differently: for one, it’s a puja room; for another, an office, a gym, or an entertainment hub.
Visually, this individuality translates into the staggered terracotta brick volumes you see pushing and pulling on the facade. Paired with deep overhangs and cascading greens, they aren’t just balconies—they are personalized, elevated courtyards.
The result is a cohesive built form that quietly holds five entirely distinct identities without compromising on functionality or character.
