Tucked away in the sylvan surroundings of Shivalik foothills, Walden is a small family-run permaculture farm in village Naurangpur, Ropar (Punjab), where all practices are firmly rooted in sustainable living. In this rustic refuge, we have sowed the seeds of conscious indulgence combined with simple living. Come along and immerse in an experiential stay at our family-run nature’s haven. Let’s conn
ect with the community and embrace the joys of farm living. Let’s move with the rhythm of life and play with the pleasure of being. Let your imagination fly—be a cloud watcher, a forest walker, or just be who you are when away from the chaos of city life. In the ancient town of Rupnagar (Ropar), in the land of the five rivers, Punjab there was a village called Naurangpur. Wide expanses of uninhabited fields led to it being called bae chirag mauza or “abandoned” in land records. Nestled in the sylvan foothills of the emerald Shivalik hills, amidst a landscape bequeathed with narrow seasonal streams and small heavenly hills—a dream sprouted up from these fields. First came the foundation, deep and determined, forged from ideas that seek alternatives to modern consumerism. Next, appeared the walls, solid and secure, moulded from mud taken from the earth beneath our feet. Finally, rose a roof, canopied above our heads to shelter and comfort. Here, we envision a way of life that celebrates the countryside and rejoice the bounties of nature. And now our dream is yours—a dream called Walden.
