J&K State Forest Service Officers Association
Meeting with PCCF (HoFF), J&K

The J&K State Forest Service Officers Association called on the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), J&K, on the occasion of his taking over charge.
Apart from extending a warm welcome to the new PCCF (HoFF), the Association discussed in detail the long-pending issues confronting the State Forest Service (SFS) and the stagnation affecting officers across cadres.
The PCCF (HoFF) agreed in principle to upgrade the downgraded DCF posts of the Forest Protection Force, which would pave the way for much-needed career progression of officers suffering stagnation in the department.
The issue of pay anomalies was also discussed, and the PCCF assured that the matter would be examined and addressed.
Regarding common seniority of all wings, the PCCF agreed that anomalies in service matters need correction and conveyed that the issue would be taken up by providing notional effect, wherever feasible.
The PCCF further expressed the view that an all-stakeholders meeting should be convened to minimize service-related litigation and to facilitate necessary amendments in service rules, ensuring long-term stability and fairness in the cadre.
The meeting concluded on a positive and constructive note, with the Association expressing hope for early and tangible outcomes.

A Forest Guard Laid Down His Life – Our Silence Must Not

A brave Forest Guard has laid down his life while trying to douse the forest fire. He did not think of himself. He only thought of duty. He protected the forests, the people, and the very lungs of this land—at the cost of his own life.

He fulfilled his duty.
Now it is our duty to make the Government realise the supreme sacrifice made by one of their own.

This sacrifice cannot be allowed to become just another news item forgotten tomorrow.

Today, our voice must rise not only in mourning, but in demanding safety, insurance cover, proper protection gear, and a risk allowance for all forest personnel who continue to fight fires, poachers, and hostile situations with bare hands.

When a uniform falls, it is not a single life lost.
it is a warning that those who protect our forests are being left unprotected themselves.

Let this sacrifice become a call for:

Risk Allowance
Insurance Cover
Fire-safety equipment
Immediate recognition of duty-related martyrdom
Family support and compensation
The Government cannot turn deaf ears anymore.
This time, we will ensure they listen.
His sacrifice should become a turning point, not another forgotten tragedy.
