This isn’t a house. It’s a weekend escape.

Designed in Hosur as a weekend retreat for the family, this 4BHK A-frame home combines striking architecture with comfortable living. The iconic triangular form creates unique interior spaces, dramatic volumes, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

This one design decision helps cool the entire house.

Most homeowners see a double-height space as a luxury feature, but it can also play a major role in passive cooling. In this Kasaragod home, we designed the layout, openings, and double-height volume to help hot air rise and escape naturally while drawing cooler air through the house.

By combining cross ventilation, stack effect, and climate-responsive planning, the house stays more comfortable even during Kerala’s hotter months with reduced dependence on mechanical cooling.

A 2200 sq. ft. residence designed for climate-responsive living in Chelari, Kerala.
The house combines shaded outdoor transitions, breathable spaces, terracotta textures, and sloped roof forms to create a warm contemporary home rooted in its tropical context.

Designed as a 3BHK residence for Mr. Anoop, the project focuses on natural ventilation, privacy, and everyday comfort while maintaining a clean architectural language.

Designed to block heat, not just add beauty.

In this completed home at Kasaragod, the first-floor bedroom located on the southwest corner was designed with a carefully planned balcony that acts as a protective buffer against harsh sun exposure.

In tropical climates like Kerala, southwest-facing walls receive intense heat during the afternoon and evening. By introducing a balcony as a shading layer, the design helps reduce direct sunlight entering the room and minimizes heat gain inside the house.

Designed by Shinoop Revathy at AtticLab, this is a simple example of how climate-responsive architecture can improve comfort through thoughtful design instead of depending entirely on artificial cooling.
