For the room to preserve its airy spaciousness, we designed low-height furniture and let the sunlight flood through the windows unfettered by any obstructions.

The Platform is loosely based on the concept of Tokonoma - the focal point of Japanese homes used to welcome guests while displaying art. The seat in front of The Tokonoma is called Kamiza (seat of honour) and is reserved for special guests, positioned such that the art is best viewed.

Sliding doors found their fame in Japan and are an important part of their culture and history. Inspired by the Fusama sliding door we set out to separate the space within a room while committing our reverence to the Japanese design aesthetic and conserving space compared to the swing door.

We know that our yearning to reduce everything to the essential forms of lines and shapes extended to our main door. We wanted the inhabitants walking in to know precisely what to expect - tranquillity, design, nature and space.

We were quite specific in choosing the unit when we purchased it. But did we know that 811 could be simplified into two straight lines and two circles emphasizing pure abstraction when we bought it?
I guess we will never know.

When we started out with the work on our office, we had one goal - to establish a design ideology and to do justice by it with our hands-on ex*****on.

We never expected the design style to resonate with so many of you in a way that it did.

We are extremely thankful for the warm reception and welcoming us into the larger design community that loves and respects the and aesthetic.

This recognition, especially with would not have been possible without the apropos visual captivations by coupled with the vivid words of

None of this would have been possible without the team effort exerted by the entire and extended TASA teams, including our consultants, contractors, suppliers, carpenters and masons who tirelessly helped bring our designs to reality.

We would be remiss if we wouldn't mention the endless support of .crio .sheth .arrt .india .india .cables .india

Inspired by the concept of a shared meal as a family and a community-building custom in the Japanese culture.

We incorporated Zabutons and Chabudai - a Japanese floor table arrangement used for dining, and tea serving doubling as a workbench.

This low-height seating arrangement engages the Japanese theory about embracing the tranquillity, stillness, and solitude that sitting close to the ground can achieve.

The basic form is used as the only piece of art in the office. It creates varying patterns throughout the daytime as the sun changes its position and at every interval, a dramatic shadow is observed. Shadow is the most underrated design element while colour palettes and different shapes are often seen taking the stage.

In keeping with the functional, minimal and monochrome facet of the Japandi design, we have designed the entirety of our furniture in OBT wood. A mix of handcrafting and machine detailing ensured that every single angle and every single handle was designed to detail and carved out of hardwood.

With earnest efforts towards embracing Wabi-Sabi, we used the upcycled wood without any inhibitions towards inconsistent patterns, grains, colour variations or even knots and nail holes. We truly came to realise that broken could be beautiful.
