What is GGBS?

Ground-granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS or GGBFS) is obtained by quenching molten iron slag, to produce a glassy, granular product that is then dried and ground into a fine powder.

GGBS is a hydraulic binder, which has been known and used for 150 years. GGBS is Stable, Uniform, Non Metallic, Non-Flammable, Non-Hazardous material and ensures greener future by reducing carbon in atmosphere. GGBS confirms to IS 12089 – 1987, EN 15167-1 and ASTM C989-1999.

GGBS is off white in color, with specific gravity of 2.85 – 2.95 and bulk density of 1000 - 1300 kg/m3. It has glass content of 90-95% and blains fineness of 350 – 400 m2/kg. Applications of GGBS encompass all types of buildings, marine structures, high rise structures, bridges, roads, mass concrete projects (dams), underground structures and coastal structures.

Conash Infrastructure is the market leader in local sales as well as exports from India. We collectively supply more than 0.5 MMTPA, across 5 states and 10 countries.

What is CONASH Copper Slag?

Copper slag is a co‐product obtained during matte smelting and refining of copper. The raw Material of Copper Slag is generated by quenching of slag in water in a specially designed granulator at Copper Smelter.

Applications of Copper Slag include Land Filling, Road Construction, as a Building Material and Abrasive Blasting. Central Road Research Institute has recommended usage of Copper Slag in Road Construction. Researchers have investigated the use of copper slag in the production of cement, mortar and concrete as raw materials for clinker, cement replacement, coarse and fine aggregates. Partial Replacement of sand in concrete is allowed up to 10% by Mass.

The PFA particles are mostly extremely fine, glassy spheres that are similar to cement in appearance. The cost of a ton of IS3812 Part I / ASTM C618 compliant fly ash is often half the price of portland cement. Using fly ash instead of portland cement can reduce the cost of a concrete in a project while improving its overall performance and durability.

Another significant benefit of using fly ash is that it requires less water than portland cement, conserving a limited resource, while also reducing a project’s water and equipment costs.

Our studies have suggested that CEMGUARD plus Fly Ash decreases amount of Cement by at least 10% in a regular M20 to M30 grade concrete. Right Mix design of concrete using CEMGUARD plus fly ash will not only reduces cost, but will give higher compressive strength.
