Crafted in homage to A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains, a masterpiece from the Song Dynasty, this work reinterprets the poetic depth of Eastern landscape through the language of wood.
Composed of over 50,000 individual elements in dyed veneers, the marquetry reveals an extraordinary level of precision and artistry. Each fragment is meticulously arranged to create layers, perspective, and atmosphere, evoking the harmony and vastness of the original composition.
Through material, color, and composition, the piece expresses a refined dialogue between tradition and contemporary craftsmanship.
Presented during Milano Design Week 2026 at Casa Tabu Milano, this creation embodies the fusion of cultural heritage and material innovation.
