Before trucks, roads, and modern technologies, marble came down the mountain like this.
For centuries, lizzatura was one of the most iconic and dangerous quarrying techniques in Carrara: massive marble blocks transported downhill on wooden sledges, guided only by strength, experience, and the courage of the quarry workers.
For this content, we used artificial intelligence to recreate and bring back to life a practice deeply rooted in the history of marble and the Apuan territory.
A contemporary way to preserve and tell the story of tradition.
