Yesterday, Invest in Tuscany welcomed a delegation of Italian and international press to Viareggio, at the headquarters of the NAVIGO cluster for an immersive press tour into one of the most extraordinary industrial districts in Europe.

Tuscany’s yachtbuilding sector is a global benchmark: 4,500 companies, 22,000 employees, and €4 billion in revenues. With approximately 40% of the world market share for luxury vessels over 30 metres, and exports reaching a record €1.57 billion in 2024, this is not just a regional story, it is a story of Italian excellence that resonates across every ocean.

The tour opened at the headquarters of the Navigo Tuscany Cluster, guided by its President Pietro Angelini, before moving to two of Viareggio’s most iconic shipyards.
At Overmarine Group, home of the legendary Mangusta Yachts brand, Victoria Balducci welcomed the delegation through a production reality spanning over 190,000 sqm across 10 facilities, where composite and metal construction lines come together to deliver some of the most coveted vessels in the world.

At Rossinavi, a byword for full-custom steel and aluminium superyachts between 40 and 70 metres, Federico Rossi, at the helm of the family shipyard, offered a glimpse into a world where decades of Italian craftsmanship meet a bold commitment to sustainable innovation, placing Viareggio, once again, at the forefront of the global yachting industry.
