First day of survey today, from the cellar level going up. This is the direct access to the backyard. ✨
The beauty of the architecture in this neighborhood is outstanding and I am proud to be able to contribute to this beauty. 🔥 ❤️

Miami is largely defined by its modern architecture.

Walking South Beach is like taking a course in Art Deco architecture.

As an architect that can be a good reason to visit it and as you walk around the incredible series of decorations and geometries and colors from the 30s, you are just amazed.

Known as Art Deco District, this is one of the world's greatest concentrations of 1930s architecture.
While around 1926 Art Deco came into fashion, by 1936 a building boom made up for lost time. South beach quickly filled up with buildings designed in a style we know today as Tropical art Deco. The unique variation on Mid-Century Modern Architecture is referred to Miami Modern or MIMO (my-moe).

"L’architettura è la mia passione: costruire significa creare volumi e spazi interni. Il design è, al contrario, un fatto di costume. Nel momento in cui una mia sedia o una mia libreria vengono acquistati dal compratore diventano suoi, non più miei. Rinascono ogni volta".

19 settembre 2006: oggi sono trascorsi 11 anni dalla scomparsa di Vico Magistretti. Lo ricordiamo con una delle sue frasi più belle:

"Nella nostra generazione si è giunti alla convinzione che essere moderno vuol dire far parte di una catena con una mano nel futuro e una nel passato".

La tua modernità continua a permeare il presente, così come le tue intuizioni sono fonti di ispirazione per gli architetti e designer di domani.
