We don’t believe a restoration should erase the passing of time.

For us, the beauty lies in allowing different periods to exist together. Original beams, stone doorways and old proportions remain part of the story, while contemporary elements are introduced without pretending to belong to another century.

The new does not need to imitate the old.
It needs to respect it.

That balance is at the heart of how we approach restoration.

A house should never feel separate from the place it belongs to.

For us, architecture is not only about the building itself. It is about understanding the landscape, the existing stone, the proportions and the way people will move through a place.

Here, house, garden and landscape were designed to feel as though they had always belonged together.

That sense of belonging is what we look for in every project.

Architecture begins with understanding the landscape.

Set among olive groves overlooking Lake Trasimeno, the house, garden and pool become part of their surroundings.

From above, you see how the different elements sit within the land. From the terrace, you experience why that relationship matters.

From ruin to architecture.

What remained of this old Umbrian farmhouse was little more than fragments of stone in the landscape. The project began from there: rebuilding its original character while creating a home that belongs naturally to its surroundings.

From the first drawings to the stone façades, timber structure and views framed from within, every decision starts with the place itself.

Old materials, new openings.

Original timber, terracotta and stone give these interiors their character, while large openings draw the landscape into the house.

A dialogue between what was already there and what was added.

Some houses don’t need to be reinvented. They need to be understood.

For this Umbrian home, we restored the original stone architecture while preserving its character and connection to the landscape.

Traditional materials, the loggia and pool were brought together to make the house work for life today, without losing what was already there.

A historic interior doesn’t need to be frozen in time.

The original beams, terracotta and stone give this interior its character. Contemporary elements were added alongside them: a bold red range, brass details and a clean line of light beneath centuries-old beams.

Nothing tries to recreate the past. The history remains visible, while new elements make the space work for life today.

Restoration is also about this: deciding what stays, what changes and what can be added without losing the character of a place.
