Con il servizio di consulenza fornisco informazioni mirate su come risistemare piccoli spazi, oppure su come gestire grandi giardini, orti e frutteti. Progettare un giardino vuol dire innanzitutto ascoltare le tue esigenze e saperle

trasformare in qualcosa di vivo e armonioso. Vuol dire pianificare attentamente uno spazio esterno che sia autentico, godibile e soprattutto sostenibile negli anni. Il mio giardino ideale è una stanza a cielo aperto dell’abitazione stessa, attraente e irresistibile tutto l’anno grazie ad un susseguirsi infinito di colori, profumi e forme. REALIZZAZIONE & GESTIONE

Seguo poi tutte le fasi di realizzazione e successive operazioni colturali. Le potature, che di solito nei miei giardini informali e mediterranei si attestano su un massimo di due interventi l’anno, ricoprono il ruolo fondamentale per il corretto mantenimento delle piante. Se la realizzazione è la fase più delicata e importante dell’intero processo, la gestione e la cura rappresentano l’unica garanzia di successo per il futuro. Nulla può essere lasciato al caso nei miei giardini.

▪️ Conscious management: We leverage interconnected canopies to protect the earth from direct evaporation, drastically reducing water requirements and physiologically minimizing maintenance interventions over time.

A new design for an upcoming garden in Tuscany.

We replaced a conventional lawn with a functional garden where plant communities take center stage.
Designed according to the principles of the new contemporary naturalistic garden, these small yet extraordinary ecosystems will bring boundless biodiversity, continuous interest, and an exponentially higher perceived value to the space.

In questo giardino naturalistico nel Chianti, i sentieri e le strutture fanno un passo indietro per lasciare la scena a un'unica vera protagonista: la comunità vegetale.

Qui non ci sono complessità architettoniche. Il design risiede interamente nell'arte e nella scienza di associare le piante.

Attraverso un planting design profondamente radicato nei principi dell'ecologia, abbiamo studiato i meccanismi naturali per creare associazioni specifiche, perfettamente adattate al clima mediterraneo continentale dell'area.

Ai fini di ottenere spazi completamente saturi, abbiamo mescolato specie diverse affinché si supportassero a vicenda. La forza di questo approccio è tangibile: a soli tre anni dall'impianto, la vegetazione ha raggiunto un equilibrio perfetto. Il risultato è un ecosistema dal fascino visivo sconvolgente, capace di mutare ed emozionare in ogni stagione, ma soprattutto in grado di prosperare con un livello di gestione quasi inesistente.

È in questa f***a rete di relazioni naturali che si svela la vera magia del giardino naturalistico. Uno spazio che, per la prima volta, sposta interamente il focus sulle piante.

In questo giardino è il proprietario che di tanto in tanto si diletta nel fare un po' di diserbo manuale. Le potature vengono effettuate due volte l'anno e l'irrigazione avviene una volta a settimana da giugno a settembre. Il segreto? Ottima fertilità del terreno, drenaggio e costante attività fotosintetica grazie alla selezione di piante multi ciclo.

Designing the outdoor spaces of these ancient estates requires, first and foremost, a silent listening to the rural landscape. It is time to abandon false myths and visual stereotypes to embrace a contemporary design that follows nature, without ever forcing it.

What does it mean today to design an exclusive garden in Puglia?

▪️ Beyond the conventional lawn: We leave behind water-guzzling lawns. We use warm-season grasses and flowering groundcover species to create ecological alternatives that are stunning and require very little water.

▪️ Respect for olive trees: A centuries-old tree should never coexist with the constant moisture of a lawn. It must be integrated into communities of Mediterranean shrub species, respecting its natural summer dormancy.

▪️ Invisible engineering: Deep soil preparation, microorganisms, and thick layers of crushed stone mulch to make the vegetation deeply rooted, autonomous, and resilient.

▪️ Materials and design: From seamless Trani stone paving, to the discreet aesthetics of wall-grazing lighting that sculpts dry-stone walls, up to swimming pools that blend perfectly with the agricultural horizon.

I giardini e la ghiaia (o pietrisco)

Analizzare il prima e il dopo di un giardino immerso nel pietrisco è di fondamentale importanza per comprenderne il processo.
Non ha più senso parlare di gravel garden poiché l'inerte (in futuro sostituito da materiali riciclati) è ormai un materiale imprescindibile per i giardini di oggi e di domani.
Una distesa di roccia frantumata inizialmente può spaventare ma in poco tempo diventa (visivamente) solo un ricordo.
Quello che conta è che rimarrà lì negli anni, facilitando enormemente la gestione della comunità vegetale.
Se usato su camminamenti e aree vegetate, il pietrisco elimina la necessità di creare bordure poiché saranno le piante stesse a delineare i confini in modo naturale ed armonioso.
Con le giuste tempistiche e con le giuste lavorazioni, nell'arco di un anno le piante copriranno interamente la superficie e non sarà più necessario fare nulla, se non occuparsi di potare, irrigare e talvolta fare qualche saltuario diserbo.
Se inoculati correttamente tutti i microrganismi necessari, con il tempo verrà a crearsi tutta la fertilità di cui hanno bisogno le piante, rendendo superflue e inutili le concimazioni.
Nei nostri giardini non si concima mai, non si effettuano mai trattamenti fitosanitari e non si lavora mai il terreno.
Tutto questo è possibile grazie ad un insieme di fattori e il pietrisco svolge un ruolo determinante.
Non possiamo più parlare di gravel garden come forma di giardino ma come misura necessaria nel creare un sistema davvero resiliente e parzialmente autonomo, a prescindere dal luogo, dal contesto.

The complex geometries of the property resolve into a harmonious design, tracing a silent dialogue between contemporary architecture and the open landscape.

Everything takes shape through the plant species. Welcomed by the rich soils of Lazio, sweeping masses of herbaceous perennials and grasses soften the pool's contours and intimately wrap around the firepit. Balancing this vibrant softness are the sculptural, rigorous volumes of formal evergreens.

Lo abbiamo ripensato completamente per raccontarvi l'evoluzione del nostro studio e la nostra visione de Il nuovo giardino italiano.
