SYN Architects and Schiattarella Associati are launching an open call dedicated to local photographers.

This initiative invites photographers and video makers to document Central Riyadh through contemporary, thoughtful, and personal lens.
The aim is to capture the city’s evolving urban, cultural, and social fabric, highlighting everyday moments, architectural narratives, and the spirit of place.
We are seeking visual interpretations that can explore the relationship between space and community, and reveal the subtle atmospheres and lived experiences that define Central Riyadh today.
Selected photographers will contribute to a curated body of work that brings together multiple perspectives, creating a layered and multifaceted portrait of the city. Through this collective narrative, the project aspires to reflect the complexity and vitality of Central Riyadh in the present moment.

//////// MEETING THE ARCHITECT ////////// Rossi for Schiattarella Associati
Today we are pleased to introduce Martina Rossi, an architect from Campania.
She graduated from the University Federico II of Naples, and after completing her studies she began her professional path in various architectural offices. Before joining our team, she worked at Labics in Rome, where she was exposed to the complexity of architectural design and learned how to balance design ambitions with BIM processes.
Since joining Schiattarella Associati, Martina has initially been involved in the detailed and final design phases of several large-scale projects, most notably Al-Balad Culture Square and Al-Urubah Park. These experiences encouraged her to further deepen her understanding of BIM methodologies, eventually leading her to obtain certification as a BIM Manager. Today, she has become the office’s main point of reference for everything related to BIM.
Martina is a natural team player, with a personality that thrives in collaborative environments, a perfect match for a role in which she must constantly navigate between different projects and workgroups. Her commitment to integrating and improving BIM methodologies within the office has had a significant positive impact on our workflows.
Notable traits: delightfully talkative (sometimes a bit too much), endlessly curious (especially about what everyone is having for lunch), decidedly not a fan of hugs, and always trying, enthusiastically, to teach Campanian dialect to the entire office.

//////// MEETING THE ARCHITECT ////////// Vincioni for Schiattarella Associati
Oggi finalmente vi presentiamo Valerio Vincioni, architetto romano anno 1988.

Laureato alla Sapienza di Roma parecchi anni fa ormai, dopo la laurea ha lavorato per circa 2 anni presso il T-studio di Guendalina Salimei a Roma facendo in contemporanea il master di II livello su “progettazione degli edifici di culto” sempre alla Sapienza.

Dopo questo periodo si è trasferito a Bologna dove ha seguito un altro master professionale in “Progettazione sostenibile e ambientale” per poi lavorare per 5 anni presso lo studio MCA Mario Cucinella Architects. In questo periodo ha avuto la possibilità di confrontarsi con progetti internazionali di grande entità, arrivando a crescere a livello professionale, diventando così responsabile di progetto.
In questa esperienza lavorativa ha seguito in maniera diretta progetti nel Middle East in particolare a Riyadh e questo, legato alla voglia di tornare a Roma gli ha permesso di entrare da Schiattarella Associati dove ormai lavoro da 3 anni, continuando così l’esperienza internazionale e nell’Arabia Saudita.
Nello studio, dopo aver seguito la parte finale di cantierizzazione del progetto di DAF Diriyah Art Futures, svolge il ruolo di Project Director, coordinando e gestendo le varie fasi del progetto.

Curioso, preciso, sempre disponibile e sempre pronto a sperimentare ed imparare cose nuove, molto aperto e predisposto a lavorare in gruppo.
Passioni tante, tempo poco ma non ci si annoia mai!

The design of this space reflects our vision of architecture as a means of urban regeneration, a service to the community, and an open platform for exchange, dialogue, and contamination between different disciplines. SHELL has been conceived as a cultural hub open to artists, thinkers, professionals, researchers, and citizens.
Everyone is invited to build a cultural landscape in the making, where architecture and the arts interact with the city and its community.

A new season of exhibitions, talks, and temporary installations is about to begin in September.
