Maffeis Engineering SpA offers a full range of engineering services to the international marketplace. Our core competencies include foundations, concrete structures and structural steel. However we specialize in light weight structures, including membrane structures, cable stayed structures, ETFE cushion structures, event and temporary structures and retractable roof structures. We understand that customer satisfaction is the key to a successful business and our performance has allowed us to grow continuously since the start of our company. We serve all markets including Sport, Public, Commercial, Industrial, Bridge and Energy Technology. Our constant efforts at improvement and development of the services that we offer has led to the now available CFD analysis for state of the art wind loading calculations for unconventionally shaped structures and the heat transfer technology.

The Camp Nou is taking shape. 🏟️
Maffeis Engineering SpA is part of the team renovating FC Barcelona’s iconic stadium, working alongside our partner Limak Construction, the General Contractor for the project.

Our role covers the detail design of the compression ring connection plates and the er****on engineering of the ring itself, including the verification of the transitional construction stages. We also coordinate with the supporting structures, design the custom connections to the stands, carry out the structural safety verifications for Tier 3, the steel grandstand, and provide technical consultancy to the General Contractor.

On the roof, we are responsible for the detail design of the cable net connections and for the design of the entire big lift of the cable net.Depropping is now complete, and the displacements matched closely the predictions of our detailed FEM models. It is always rewarding when the numerical model and the real structure tell the same story. 📐

Now we are waiting for the lay down and the big lift.

Transparency, thermal efficiency, and high-level facade engineering in Dubai.

Designing the envelope of an indoor arena in the heart of the desert means balancing two opposing priorities: creating large, panoramic glass surfaces while maintaining maximum thermal efficiency and structural integrity. For the Coca-Cola Arena (Meraas Dubai Arena), Maffeis delivered complete Facade Engineering services—from concept and schematic design to ex*****on details—working alongside global architecture practice Populous.

Key engineering highlights:

👉Extra-Large Unitized Panels: Engineered large-format glazing units and a custom stick system with steel mullions and transoms, featuring triangular glass panels cut from standardized modules to maximize architectural impact and view clarity.

👉Parametric & BIM Modeling: Used a visual programmable model to explore and refine design iterations in real time while ensuring seamless multi-trade coordination.

👉CFD Simulations (Wind Tunnel Analysis): Performed advanced computational fluid dynamics to accurately evaluate wind loads and minimize the interior steel framing profile. A seamless convergence of architectural vision, advanced building physics, and structural precision.

From airplane to stadium: the new Meinau facade comes to life! ✈️🏟️

We joined forces with and to transform Strasbourg’s Stade de la Meinau into a global model of sustainability.

Maffeis Engineering designed the new envelope for Strasboug’s Stade de la Meinau including the innovative solar shading system crafted from decommissioned Airbus A340 aircraft.

The result? A unique facade combining function, design, and a concrete commitment to the circular economy.
An ambitious project we tackled with the passion of those who seek creative solutions for complex engineering challenges.

We are grateful to have attended the gathering held in the Fan Zone of the Stade de la Meinau, where all the key players in the transformation of the facility came together to share a moment together.

Exciting to see construction progress on the GFRC façade at Surf House at The Surf Club, a Four Seasons Residence by Fort Partners.

Located at the south end of The Surf Club in Surfside, Miami, Surf House brings a modern architectural language into conversation with the original 1965 building. The façade, designed by French architect Jérôme Engelkin with KOBI KARP as Architect of Record, complements the project’s refined residential character and coastal setting.

As vertical construction advances, Maffeis Engineering is proud to support Prekast Corp, the GFRC façade contractor, with façade design and engineering services for the GFRC envelope.

Projects like this require close coordination between architectural design, material performance, fabrication logic, tolerances and installation sequencing. Our role is to help translate the design vision into a buildable façade system that can be efficiently fabricated and successfully delivered on site.

Excited to share that Davide Guidetti, Vice President & U.S. Regional Director at Maffeis Engineering, will participate as a featured panelist at the upcoming Global Crossroads Conference hosted by the UT Dallas International Center.

Davide will join Yavar Saremi, Lead Architect at Overland International, for Plenary III: The Arena – Building a Space for Sports, a conversation on how stadiums and arenas are evolving beyond venues for sport into catalysts for community, economic development, urban identity and global exchange.

The panel will explore how major sports infrastructure is planned, designed and delivered at the intersection of architecture, engineering, culture, and public life.

By combining our specialized engineering expertise with a passion for complex structures, we have successfully helped turn an ambitious vision of eco-tourism and adventure into a safe, stunning reality. Our team took on the comprehensive structural design for the project's most dynamic elements, including the Ziplines, Platforms, Cable Structures, Via Ferrata, and Wobbly Bridges.

Following the design phase, we also conducted the final hand-over inspection and certification, ensuring the entire installation met the global standards of quality, safety, and precision.
