As we approach the finish line on our latest major development, bringing 42 vital affordable homes to life, Construction Director Chris Kent takes a look around the show house, and shares some of the unique features this community will offer.

An exciting day yesterday for the Ashbe team, taking our site safety and efficiency to the next level with our brand new G-Deck safety decking system.

Thanks to the Better Business grant support provided by Jersey Business, we’ve been able to invest in this industry leading, high strength working platform, to keep our teams safe and projects moving smoothly.

Yesterday we welcomed a UK specialist to Jersey for a hands on training session, and our team are now fully certified and ready to deploy G-Deck across our upcoming sites.

At Ashbe Construction, we believe that building a community means protecting the local wildlife that shares it.

Our J1109 site at Sion isn’t just becoming a future neighborhood, it’s already a vital home for Jersey’s bat populations! We’ve worked closely with ecologists and designers to build dedicated, permanent protection features right into the fabric of the site, to ensure our local night flyers can thrive here for years to come.

To celebrate these incredible creatures, we are teaming up with the experts at the Jersey Bat Group and local artist Ben Robertson to host an exclusive, public bat walk, right on site. Ben Robertson will be using this event as inspiration to shape some of the art work that will be interwoven across the site.

Come along to explore the site at dusk, use bat detectors to hear their secret echolocation calls, and learn how we can all design space for nature. Scan the QR code to reserve your spot!

We are pleased to announce the exceptional results of our recent Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) assessments, following on-site evaluations by a UK assessor.

Three of our key projects have been recognised as operating at the highest industry standards, each achieving a rating of Excellent or above.

• St Peter’s and St John’s - As both projects approach completion, the have been awarded Excellent ratings, scoring over 90%. This reflects their sustained commitment to operating at the highest level possible throughout their lifecycles.
• Jersey Airport - In its first CCS assessment, this complex project achieved the highest possible tier, with an Outstanding rating, and a score of 97%!

The CCS independently verifies performance against critical benchmarks, including community, environment and workforce. These scores underscore our unwavering commitment to responsible, safe and sustainable construction practices. Well done to the project teams, supply chain partners and site operatives whose daily dedication makes these achievements possible.

It’s certainly busy up at Jersey Airport Departures! Last week we completed formation of the lift pit, that will house the new lift to the mezzanine floor. We also completed removal of the old first floor balcony, allowing to commence installation of bracketry for the first-floor primary support beam. These brackets will allow the support steel to the new first floor walkway (behind №1 Lounge) to be fixed in place, forming part of the new mezzanine. Great progress all round!
