🐾 It’s finally here! 🐾

After many months of writing, editing and bringing my ideas to life, I’m so excited to share that Basil’s Unexpected Sleepover is now available!

Many of you will recognise the real Basil, who regularly visits my shop with his lovely mum, Ruth. One day I started wondering… what if Basil accidentally got left behind after the shop closed? That idea grew into a bedtime story set inside Jo’s Painted Pebbles, where all the little creatures come to life after dark.

This book has been a real labour of love, and I an so happy to finally hold the finished copy with the real Basil by my side!

A huge thank you to Ruth and Basil for inspiring this story and for all their encouragement along the way. ❤️

📖 Suitable for children aged 3–7 years, and perfect for little dog lovers and anyone who enjoys bedtime stories.

The book is available now on Amazon, and I currently have just three signed copies available in the shop (more are on order and should arrive next week🐾✨

A couple more joyful hours spent on the mural today. 🎨✨

The gold details are starting to appear, the green circles are in place, and little by little the design is coming to life.

It’s amazing how a blank board can slowly transform into something completely different with every brushstroke.

Still plenty to do, but I’m loving the journey. 💙🐚✨

The mural journey begins! 🎨✨

It all started with a tin of Frenchic paint called Dive In… and that seemed like the perfect place to begin.

From sketching circles and planning the layout, to testing colours, stencils and ideas, this is a little look behind the scenes at how the design is taking shape. There’s still a long way to go, but it’s exciting to see it slowly coming together.

Sometimes the hardest part is making that first mark on a blank board!

Follow along to see how this mural evolves over the coming days. 💙🐟🐚

Watching this blue mandala come to life is my favourite part of the process. ✨

✨ Special Guest at Jo’s Painted Pebbles Today! ✨

My daughter Emma has set up a beautiful pop-up stall outside the shop today, featuring handcrafted journals, notebooks and incense inspired by traditional Indian artistry.

The journals are absolutely stunning, with colourful fabrics, intricate designs and lots of character. Perfect for sketching, journalling, note-taking or as a thoughtful gift.

If you’re in St Helier today, do pop in and say hello and have a browse.

🎨 12 Weeks • 12 Colours • Countless Dots 🎨

Twelve weeks ago I opened a set of DecoArt Brights acrylic paints and challenged myself to create a different dot mandala design using each colour in the set.

From Bright Orange through to True Red, every week brought a new colour, a new design and a new creative challenge. Some weeks featured shells, others pebbles and hearts, but each piece was inspired by the joy of colour and the relaxing rhythm of dotting.

Thank you to everyone who followed along, liked, commented and encouraged me throughout the challenge. Your support made it even more enjoyable.

Which colour was your favourite? 💛💚💙💜🩷❤️

Happy Friday everyone! 💙

This week has been a busy one, so I’m looking back at a special commission from June 2024. These hand-painted scallop shells were created for a beautiful wedding, and I still love the different shades of blue. Have a great weekend whatever you are up to 😀
