Through Dawn’s encouragement my work is now more expressive, and I am inspired by the Sky, Land & Sea all around me. I take cues from every country I visit, capturing atmosphere and emotion through vibrant colour and expansive movements. Colour is my passion, and each piece is a celebration of Space, Light and the joy of Colour.

I discovered Acrylics through Dawn at the Harbour Gallery who has since opened the Colour Rooms at Beaumont (so I had come full circle!!) - something clicked with Acrylics and I found my freedom - bigger brushers - bigger strokes - brighter palettes, more abstraction and most importantly my style! - I love getting messy - the messier the better!

continued from yesterday .....
About 7 years ago, I reignited my passion through watercolour - I did a course with Lisa Troy and I was on my road again! I had never used Water colour before, but I painted whenever I could -I soon had a studio in our back garden to my husband’s relief as he could use the dining room again! Once I was outside, I experimented with mixed media which I still do occasionally: Paper, leaves, stones & sea-glass are my favourite

My story so far…...
My interest in art began when I was about 14 - mainly through Art History. When I came to Jersey, I met my husband, and I carried on painting in oils as we had a spare room in our house on Beaumont hill. That early freedom to explore shaped my love for creativity in my very busy life as a hotelier and mother. When we moved to a smaller house in 2003, I no longer had a dedicated space for art, but the spark never left
