MERU COUNTY DESERVES A COMPREHENSIVE AND INDEPENDENCE AUDIT OF PUBLIC RESOURCES INCLUDING THE IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION OF A PATRICK NKUNGA PA TO OUR MERU COUNTY GOVERNOR.
Meru County deserves a comprehensive and independent audit of how our public resources are being managed. As residents and taxpayers, we have a right to understand how county funds are allocated, spent and accounted for.
I am particularly concerned about allegations and complaints surrounding the conduct of certain individuals close to the county administration, including Mr. Patrick Nkunga, who has been described as an aide to the Governor. If there are credible complaints concerning intimidation, interference with citizens, or dealings with vulnerable families, these matters should be investigated by the appropriate authorities. No public official or government employee should be above scrutiny.
Our Governor should also ensure that his administration is surrounded by competent, accountable and professional staff whose priority is serving the people of Meru and not creating unnecessary controversy or undermining public confidence.
If Igembe North is home to key members of the county administration, residents deserve to ask why places such as Maua continue to face serious challenges, including drainage problems and the absence of adequate government services such as a Huduma Centre.
As an aspiring leader for Imenti North, I believe Meru residents deserve transparency, competent leadership and responsible management of public resources. We must also protect every citizen's constitutional rights, including freedom of expression and the right to raise legitimate concerns without intimidation.
Come 2027, Meru voters should carefully evaluate every MCA, MP, Senator and other elected leader based on their record, performance and service to the people and not merely their political connections or longevity in office.
Meru deserves better. Our resources must serve the people.
