"We are honoured to have been selected to curate the British Pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia 2025 in collaboration with Professor Kathryn Yusoff & Owen Hopkins. Our UK and Kenya combined team intersects multiple disciplines and geographies, with a critical perspective on how to use this unique platform.

The exhibition will map architectures from across the world defined by an embedded relationship to the ground, which are resilient in the face of climate breakdown, social, economic and political upheaval; and that offer refuge and empowerment for the most climate exposed communities. To frame this, we intend to conceptually reinscribe the British Pavilion by turning it inside out and unearth what these acts of repair might look like when framing a planetary vernacular.

We appreciate the selection panel for their belief in us, and continuous support from Sevra Davis, Sandra Chege and the entire British & East Africa Arts teams".

The British Council announces today that a team of architectural practitioners has been selected to represent the UK at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia 2025.The collaborative UK-Kenya curatorial team selected is:· Owen Hopkins, Director of the Farrell Centre...

We describe The Architect’s Studio exhibition at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art as a collective effort of exhibition planning and experiments in museology. At its heart is the collaboration between two museum institutions, which is fundamentally a microcosm of repair between the divided progeny of our shared human ancestors who left Africa, and those who remained on the continent. A joint effort to confront the complicated times of imperial and colonial transgression that Denmark shared, while revisiting the times of trauma that cross-sectioned multiple lands, cultures and so-called past civilisations. It is an exploration into the potential of architecture to generate pathways to read trauma and healing; an invitation to the audience to look at new ways to read a museum beyond the confines of any building to bring us together.

Mød arkitekterne Kabage Karanja og Stella Mutegi fra Cave_bureau søndag 2 juli kl.14:00!
