Project Scale - 22,000 sq. ft. | 3 Floors | 6 Bedrooms
Nestled within the misty hills of Kandy, a vision slowly began to take shape. It was a vision of a home designed not merely to stand upon the mountains but to become a living part of them. From the very beginning, The Castle of Mists was imagined as a timeless neoclassical residence. It stands grand in presence yet remains deeply connected to the natural beauty of its surroundings. Spanning 22,000 square feet across three floors, the design carefully composed every element to curate an experience rather than just build a house. Towering columns, graceful arches, dramatic spatial volumes, and expansive glass openings frame the mountains perfectly, allowing the shifting mist and landscape to become part of daily life. Step inside, and the story becomes even more dramatic. A breathtaking three-story living space rises around a monumental fireplace, featuring a grand piano resting beneath a cascading chandelier. Elegant marble stretches across the vast spaces, while intricate brass details, gold mirrors, rich velvet, dark timber, and sleek black finishes layer together to create a sense of warmth, depth, and absolute luxury. Beyond the grand entertaining spaces are the quieter, intimate moments. The master suite overlooks the misty valleys and features a beautifully crafted dressing room, a private cinema, and a luxurious bathtub deliberately positioned to capture the spectacular landscape views. Then, above it all, the journey reaches its stunning conclusion. A rooftop bar and infinity pool float suspended above the hills. Here, the water appears to vanish into the clouds while the mountains stretch endlessly toward the horizon. Yet, perhaps the most beautiful part of this project is not the elegant marble, the grand chandeliers, or the monumental scale. It is the journey of bringing an idea into reality. A clientโs imagination became a concept. That concept became a drawing.
The drawing became architecture.
And the architecture became a home.
