We have been busy building a new factory and perfecting the delicate balance of clay, glaze and heat to bring you a new and exciting new product range - handcrafted ceramic tiles and homeware.
Follow us on this new journey, one tile at a time, as always. The best is yet to be fired!

A bold facelift for an existing retail building façade in Matale, Sri Lanka
The team took on the challenge of giving a completely new and exciting identity, honouring the town's rich heritage. Matale was particularly known for its lacquer work using distinct colours and patterns. The geometric patterns were easily replicated on to cement tiles, that were then pasted on to the building façade.

Une rénovation audacieuse de la façade d'un magasin à Matale, Sri Lanka
L'équipe de a relevé le défi de donner une identité entièrement nouvelle et captivante, rendant hommage au riche patrimoine de la ville. Matale était en effet particulièrement réputée pour ses laques aux couleurs vives et motifs géométriques. îlot Colombo a reproduit ces motifs anciens sur des carreaux de ciment, installés ensuite sur la façade du bâtiment.

Piles of handmade cement tiles drying at workshop
Cement tiles are not fired but cured - submerged in water for a few days and then air dried for at least 20 days.

Les carreaux de ciment ne sont pas cuits mais suivent un processus de cure, délicat procédé d'hydratation et de séchage à l'air libre de la matière pendant une vingtaine de jours.

New addition to the quirky interiors , the first coffee shop that opened in UNESCO Heritage Galle Fort. Leading to the courtyard, the intricate and flowery design of Hanoi cement tiles compliment the eclectic style of the café.

Une nouvelle addition à l'intérieur chaleureux et original de , premier café à avoir ouvert ses portes dans le fort de Galle, site du patrimoine de l'UNESCO. Menant à la cour intérieure arboré, les carreaux de ciment Hanoi et leur délicat motif floral s'accordent à merveille avec le style éclectique de cette institution.
