Car Upholstery Factory Project
Architect: Lanka Rasadi Arkitekter
Area: 250 sqm
Location: Moers, Germany
Year: 2024
This Car Interior Factory is a contemporary industrial structure designed to accommodate multiple production workshops, each incorporating an office, kitchenette, and restroom. The architectural composition integrates functional design with modern aesthetics, utilizing black plastered surfaces and exposed brick elements to create a sleek, professional facade.
The layout is driven by modular efficiency, with each workshop paired with a dedicated office space and communal areas for work and rest. The office wing, strategically placed at the front, features an open-plan design with double height volumes, enhancing spatial dynamics and natural light pe*******on. Regularly spaced glazing introduces daylight while ensuring privacy, while a 5-meter green zone at the building’s perimeter offers a connection to the surrounding landscape.
The executive offices are located on the mezzanine level, enclosed in glass partitions that offer visual transparency without sacrificing acoustical privacy. The main floor is designed for collaborative work, with areas for team interaction, a large conference table, a kitchenette, and a lounge for client meetings. Separate male and female restrooms are provided to ensure functionality.
Key materials, such as, black plaster, facing bricks, timber, and concrete are employed to create a durable, contemporary aesthetic that supports both the industrial nature of the building and its need for an inviting workspace. This cohesive architectural language ensures an efficient, modern, and visually stimulating environment.
