Northern Sri Lanka Both were built and or reconstructed in the mid 1970's. The construction of these two buildings was done by Americans and other foreign born children of Bawa with his direct supervision. The Guru Bawa Ashram and Mankumban are about 30 minutes drive apart. The ashram being in the city of Jaffna and Mankumban on the Island of
Kayts. Kayts is connected to the mainland via of a causway.
