Project - Personalized Residence in Panadura

It's a personalized two storied house located in a suburban area in Panadura. The land is surrounded by the road from two sides, facing a forested land at the back. The client wanted a nature themed house which gives them the feeling of a get away from the busy day to day life. It was achieved by creating multiple courtyards inside the house and and connected the spaces with bridges and wooden decks along those green spaces. By doing so, all the spaces are faced to green surroundings of both the courtyards and the back forested area which gives the feeling of living with nature as well as it helps to better circulate the fresh air inside the house.
The ground floor consists of a double heighted living space, a dining space, a kichen, a bedroom, an art room, a servant's room and servant's toilet, a small private swimming pool and a two car parking area. The upper floor has the master bedroom with a dressing room and an attached bathroom, an office room, another bedroom and a toilet, a study room and a TV area. The roof top has a rooftop garden with solar panels, the water tank and a storage space. Since all the spaces are designed by the side of courtyards and front and back gardens, you can get the feeling of nature from any space. The materials, interior design and furniture, and the colors of the house were also selected in a nature friendly, nature themed way to give the relaxing feeling. Glazing sliding and folding windows open the spaces to the surrounding greenery while it helps to utilize the maximum area of the space.
