For this project in Kandy, our client 𝐌𝐫.𝐃𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐞 had a clear vision: they wanted to recreate the unique warmth, character, and grandeur of a traditional Sri Lankan Mahagedara in their new home. They didn't just want a modern house; they wanted to capture the timeless feeling of living in a heritage home while ensuring it functioned perfectly for today’s lifestyle.
මහනුවර තම ඉඩමේ ඉදිවන නිවස සඳහා අපගේ ගනුදෙනුකරුවෙකු වූ 𝐌𝐫.𝐃𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐞 මහතාගේ ප්රධාන ඉල්ලීම වුණේ, අපේ පැරණි මහගෙදරක තිබුණු ඒ අපූර්ව සුන්දරත්වය වර්තමාන නිවසකටත් එකතු කරගන්නයි. ඒ පැරණි මහගෙදරක දැනෙන සුවිශේෂී බව සහ අද කාලේ නිවසකට අත්යවශ්ය පහසුව, මේ දෙකම එකතු කරලා සුවපහසු නිවසක් නිර්මාණය කරගන්නයි ඔහුට අවශ්ය වුණේ.
To bring this vision to life, we focused on the architectural details that define our Mahagedara's. We incorporated an authentic terracotta Sinhala tile roof, classic timber columns with traditional detailing, and a design that prioritizes natural airflow and openness. Even within a compact footprint of 694 sq. ft., we’ve carefully balanced that nostalgic, cozy atmosphere with the modern-day comfort they needed.
