Framed by the lush tea estates of Ella, βTE DALUβ Resort & Spa emerges as a boutique sanctuary inspired by the life cycle of the tea leaf itself. The architectural language draws from the evolving hues of tea β from vibrant fresh green to warm earthy browns during the drying process. The faΓ§ade and interior palette subtly reflect these tonal transitions, allowing the building to harmoniously blend with the surrounding plantations in both their green and dry seasons.
The project comprises 18 luxury rooms, each carefully oriented to capture uninterrupted panoramic views of the valley. Generous openings and private balconies dissolve the boundary between interior and landscape, inviting mist, mountain breeze, and natural light into every space. The restaurant and infinity pool are positioned as experiential focal points, overlooking the rolling hills and tea canopy. Dining here becomes more than a meal β it is an immersion into Ellaβs landscape.
A defining architectural feature is the tea-leaf-inspired ceiling at the lobby and restaurant. Designed using cane materials with sculpted timber framing, the ceiling becomes an abstract interpretation of scattered tea leaves β organic, rhythmic, and contextually expressive. Lobby corridors and entrance facades are articulated with layered cane panels, filtering light and creating a textured play of shadow while reinforcing the resortβs identity. The materiality remains honest and tropical β timber, cane, concrete, and earthy tones β carefully balanced to achieve warmth, elegance, and sustainability.
