The Architecture MasterPrize is a prestigious global award celebrating excellence and innovation in architecture and interior architecture. This recognition marks DesignOne’s fourth international award by AMP, following earlier honours in 2023 and 2024, and reflects our continued commitment to creating thoughtful, human-centred environments with global relevance.

The JXG Headquarters at Mireka Tower was designed as a living interior ecosystem—where light, materiality, and spatial experience come together to inspire creativity, connection, and well-being in everyday work life.

We extend our sincere thanks to the AMP jury, our collaborators, and our visionary client for the trust placed in DesignOne to bring this project to life.

🇱🇰 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗡 - 𝗔 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗦𝗥 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲

Sri Lanka is rebuilding after the recent floods, and many communities need practical, immediate design support—from schools and community spaces to small bridges, access points, and local business infrastructure.

This December, DesignOne is relaunching “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗡”, a one-day workshop where architects, engineers, planners, environmental specialists, QS professionals, and contractors volunteer their expertise to deliver 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱-𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

This is a continuation of the community-focused work we’ve championed for years, including past workshops that supported Habitat for Humanity, World Vision, and Solidaridad, as well as our ongoing CSR collaboration with the Sri Lanka Railway Department to elevate a Pekoe Trail train station into a community and eco-tourism node.

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

We are inviting NGOs, local groups, and community organisations to submit small, high-impact projects that would benefit from architectural guidance.

Examples include:
• Repairing or improving community facilities
• Classrooms or care spaces
• Small bridges or access connections
• Flood-resilient home support
• Public-use micro-infrastructure
• Urban Design, Drainage or resilience interventions
• Tourism-linked facilities that support local business recovery

Here, architecture, landscape, and journey meet in harmony.

This is a small glimpse of one of our ongoing works — a pause point for travelers, hikers, wanderers, and dreamers who follow Sri Lanka’s highland trails and iconic train routes.

🏄‍♂️ Training architects, one wave at a time. Celebrating DesignOne by the southern coast of Sri Lanka. 🌊✨

This is how we train our architects — and how we celebrate our journey together.

On our recent company trip to Sri Lanka’s southern coast, we swapped sketchbooks for surfboards, boardrooms for beaches, and let the ocean remind us of the lessons that shape our work:

🌊 Balance — in design, in life, and on the waves.
🌊 Flow — the rhythm that connects people, nature, and place.
🌊 Resilience — falling, rising, and returning stronger each time.
🌊 Togetherness — because architecture is never created alone.

Moments like these are more than just team retreats — they are where inspiration happens. Where young architects discover that creativity is not confined to a studio, but drawn from the world around us: the curve of a wave, the strength of the sun, the laughter of colleagues gathered by the sea.

At DesignOne, we celebrate not only what we build, but also the spirit with which we build it. This trip was a reminder of why we do what we do: to create with passion, to push boundaries, and to design spaces that move people — the way the ocean moves us. 🌍

A Glimpse Into Our Latest Workplace Design | Janashakthi Insurance PLC & Orient Finance PLC Offices

At DesignOne, every project begins with a story.

For the new Janashakthi Life and Janashakthi Finance (Previously Orient Finance) offices at Darley Road, Colombo, the story was sparked by two inspirations.

One was the timeless art of Piet Mondrian, whose clean geometries and bold colours evoke energy, clarity, and optimism. The other was Bishop’s Gate, the heritage site where formal women’s education began in Sri Lanka. This powerful legacy resonated deeply with Janashakthi, a brand whose name itself carries the meaning of “life force.”

The result is a design that merges tradition and modernity, creating spaces that are energising, collaborative, and exhilarating – spaces that ignite the Janashakthi lamp with passion, vigour, and performance, fostering a new culture of work.

Here are a few photos edited on-site to share an early glimpse before the professional photography is released. Seeing these spaces come to life reminds us why we do what we do – transforming ideas into environments that empower people to thrive.
