Day 2 at EMCS Solutions Day. One conversation stuck with me.
An installer told us about a job from a few weeks back: a warehouse yard gate, staff turning up for the early shift, and it just wouldn't open. 6am, a van full of drivers stuck outside in the yard, and the installer had to drop everything and drive over before anyone could get to work. Found a jammed sensor, five minutes of actual work, but the drive there and back ate his whole morning.
That's the exact case GATOR is built for. Wire it to the gate operator and add it to Protegus 2, and for most standard setups that's the whole job, no laptop, no separate commissioning tool. Once it's running, a fault like his, a sensor knocked out or playing up, doesn't need reprogramming at all. You bypass it from the app in a couple of taps, wherever you are, and the gate opens again while the sensor waits for a proper fix on your own schedule.
And that's really just one piece of it:
📱 Open gates remotely by app, phone call, or SMS
👥 Schedules and use-counters, up to 1,000 users
📋 Full event history, reporting in parallel to the monitoring station
📡 Wireless expansion to more access points, no new cable
🔧 Remote configuration and firmware updates, no site visit
Nobody puts "saved a morning" on a spec sheet, but ask any installer, that's the feature that actually matters.
