Nature doesn’t wait for permission.
It slips through cracks.
It settles at the edges.
In forgotten corners.

Slow life.
Quiet persistence.

Where there is moisture,
there is possibility.

Even the smallest opening
can become habitat.

Cities don’t need to be sealed.
They need to breathe.

Making space is also remembering
what was here before us.

🌿 Derrière chaque projet signé Carey Duncan Design, se trouve une femme engagée, passionnée et pionnière dans son domaine.
Architecte paysagiste d’origine sud-africaine, Carey vit et travaille au Maroc depuis plus de 30 ans. Membre fondatrice de l’AAPM et ancienne présidente d’IFLA Africa, elle a mené des projets sur trois continents.
Son travail est guidé par une conviction forte : le paysage est essentiel pour s’adapter et atténuer les effets du changement climatique.
En 2023, elle a reçu le Prix du Président de l’IFLA, une reconnaissance internationale de son engagement exceptionnel.
Son parcours incarne la collaboration internationale, la durabilité, et la puissance du design au service de la nature.

🌿 Behind every project signed by Carey Duncan Design stands a woman who is committed, passionate, and a pioneer in her field.
A South African–born landscape architect, Carey has lived and worked in Morocco for over 30 years. Founding member of the AAPM and past president of IFLA Africa, she has led projects across three continents.
Her work is driven by a strong conviction: landscape is essential for adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change.
In 2023, she received the IFLA President’s Award, an international recognition of her exceptional commitment.
Her career embodies international collaboration, sustainability, and the power of design in service of nature.

Au cœur de Carey Duncan Design, Mohamed Bsibes pilote les projets au quotidien avec rigueur, sens du détail et une solide expérience de terrain. Ingénieur paysagiste de formation, il accompagne les projets de l’esquisse à la réalisation, en assurant coordination, suivi technique et cohérence globale.

Fort de plus de 10 ans d’expérience au Maroc et en Afrique de l’Ouest, il a contribué à des projets urbains, touristiques et paysagers complexes, alliant fonctionnalité, durabilité et qualité des espaces de vie.

Engagé dans le développement et la reconnaissance du paysage, il contribue activement aux réflexions professionnelles au sein de l’AAPM et de la TALAE.

At the heart of Carey Duncan Design, Mohamed Bsibes oversees the day-to-day development of projects with precision, commitment, and strong technical expertise. Trained as a landscape engineer, he supports projects from early design stages through to implementation, ensuring coordination, technical follow-up, and overall coherence.

With over 10 years of professional experience across Morocco and West Africa, he has contributed to complex urban, residential, and landscape projects, combining functionality, sustainability, and high-quality outdoor spaces.

Committed to the advancement of the landscape profession, he actively contributes to professional initiatives within AAPM and TALAE.

Un projet qu’on connaît tous… mais qu’on oublie parfois de regarder autrement.
Des jardins sur dalles qui ont grandi avec le lieu : de l’ombre, des textures, et cette sensation de respiration au cœur de la ville, rendue possible par un substrat à la fois riche et léger, conçu par notre équipe.

A project we all know… but sometimes forget to look at differently.
Gardens built entirely on slab that have grown with the place, offering shade, texture, and that feeling of breathing space in the heart of the city — made possible by a planting substrate that is both rich and lightweight, designed by our team.

Un projet pensé pour révéler la force des éléments, célébrer l’ombre, le vent et les textures minérales, et accompagner l’un des plus grands complexes solaires.
Ravie de partager ces images, réalisées en collaboration avec Paysage et . Un projet qui reste, encore aujourd’hui, une fierté.

🌿 Un aperçu du paysage réalisé pour les résidences Green Homes, au sein de Casa Green Town. Un projet où nous avons privilégié une palette végétale durable, des textures méditerranéennes et une plantation dense pour créer des espaces de vie agréables, frais et accueillants.

L’aménagement a été pensé pour accompagner la vie quotidienne des résidents : circulations douces, plantations résilientes, jeux de volumes, et cheminements adaptés aux personnes à mobilité réduite sur un site à fort dénivelé.
Un espace où l’on marche, où l’on respire, où l’on vit pleinement.

🌿 A glimpse of the landscape design created for the Green Homes residences within Casa Green Town. This landscape was designed with a sustainable planting palette, Mediterranean textures, and lush layers of greenery to create comfortable, fresh, and welcoming outdoor spaces.

Pathways were carefully shaped to support everyday living, including resilient planting, soft transitions, and thoughtful circulation for residents of all ages and abilities. A place to breathe, walk, and feel at home.

Just back from Pretoria's ILASA / Symposium as .maroc's delegate and my last meeting as an IFLA Africa ExCo member after 12 incredible years! Feeling bittersweet! Delighted to reunite with so many passionate friends - Three presidents, a fantastic organising committee, African IFLA World volunteers with President Bruno Marques, a perfectly colour coordinated pair and , and meeting up with a lecturer at my Alma Mater .landscapearchitecture, Kate Chesebrough.
