We are so delighted to announce that our submission got chosen for the re-design of an existing dwelling into a semi-independent living space for families, young adults and children leaving Fondazzjoni Sebh’s domestic violence shelter.

‘Awora – l-ewwel dawl’ revolves around the idea of giving users a temporary place which they can call ‘home with hope for a new day’ – a new chapter in their lives. The concept translates both architecturally and through its interiors.

A series of perforations in the walls, and skylights, create natural and diffused daylight into the living areas, while keeping an element of privacy within the interiors. Choosing a fresh and light palette of colours and materials creates a warm internal environment while allowing the user(s) to personalize it to their taste.
