Recentemente Sicilia e Malta sono finite sotto l'occhio del ciclone.

Tempeste di tropicali unite all'incuria e al totale disinteresse per una pianificazione urbanistica attenta ai rischi idrogeologici a fatto si che note località turistiche e la città di Niscemi adesso piangsno danni ingenti.

Il nostro "ego" - tentativo (invano) di piegare la natura al nostro volere - deve abbracciare il concetto "eco": l'uomo come essere parte del tutto.

Lo possiamo fare a tutti I livelli e in particolare negli hotel che possono diventare degli Hub di sostenibilità.

Il tema Regenerative sustainability è un trend topic, ma è ancora più interessante scoprire che è davvero centrale.

​As a result of this clash with years of urban neglec, the lack of planning to attenuate hydrogeological risks means that beloved tourist spots and the city of Niscemi are now mourning significant damages.

​We need a mindset change. We need to move from EGO to ECO.

We must stop trying to force nature to our will - EGO - and start realizing we are just one part of the ecosystem- ECO.

​This can be done at any level and - for example - hotels can lead this change by transforming themselves into Hubs of Sustainability.

♦️More than 30 percent of Buildings in Malta are not designed to prioritize comfort and health according to Building Performance Institute Europe.

🔺Data published in the Long Term Renovation Strategy highlights that Energy-efficient strategies of the envelope are often overlooked.

💸In a nutshell they are at risk of becoming obsolete due to climate change impacts and therefore less profitable on the market.

The Technical Document F – Minimum Energy Requirements for Dwellings is effective as of 1st July 2024.

This document, a critical part of Malta’s commitment to the EU’s hashtag , sets new standards to elevate energy efficiency in new and renovated buildings across the island.

Luca Caruso 's presentation about the Document F (part 1), discusses the main features of this new building regulation.
