We are proud to share the official opening of Misraħ il-Karmelitani Garden in Żurrieq. Our team at Derek Garden Centre took this project from inception to completion, managing 100% of the works.

We handled absolutely everything: from the initial heavy excavation and structural civil works, to the final soft landscaping, which included planting 40 mature trees and over 1,600 shrubs. 🏗️💪

We would like to thank Project Green and the Ministry for trusting our expertise to deliver this sustainable space for the community.

Yesterday marked the official opening of Misraħ il-Karmelitani Garden, a major urban regeneration project delivered by Derek Garden Centre 🌿.

We are incredibly proud to have been trusted by Project Green and the Ministry to bring this space to life. Our team managed the entire project from inception to completion,handling everything from the initial excavation and civil works to the final landscaping.

Urban Regeneration in Birgu: From Industrial Site to Sustainable Park Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation

At Derek Garden Centre, we have transformed a former oil storage site in Birgu into a 1,500m² sustainable public park, showcasing our expertise in delivering turn-key civil and environmental projects.

Our scope of work:

Phase 1 (Civil Engineering): Concrete demolition, heavy excavation, and earthworks on a legacy industrial footprint.

Phase 2 (Infrastructure): Construction of the park’s architectural centrepiece, a 400m² oval amphitheatre.

Phase 3 (Landscaping): Strategic planting of mature canopy trees and smart irrigation systems to counter urban heat.

Key Responsibilities:
Providing day-to-day administrative support.

Assisting with basic accounts tasks (invoicing, data entry, and filing).

Supporting the management of HR records.

What We Are Looking For:
Previous experience in administration, accounts, or HR.

Proficiency in Excel and Word.

Knowledge of Shireburn and Indigo (highly valued).

Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
