Pamodzi Consulting Limited (PCL) - one of the leading Infrastructure Development Consultants in Southern Africa is looking for services of a Highway Engineer and Inspectors of Works for the Road and Bridge Maintenance Project in the Northern Region. The following are the requirements the posts:

INSPECTOR OF WORKS (8 Positions)

The successful applicant will report to the Resident Engineer

Key responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for
Onsite construction supervision of works,
Conducting site inspections and reporting on the progress of construction projects,
Ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with the approved design and specifications,
Conducting quality control inspections and testing to ensure that materials and workmanship are of the required quality,
Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed on site.
Qualifications & Experience
BSc Degree in Civil Engineering with at least one year experience in construction supervision of roads and bridges,
Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least three years experience in construction supervision of roads and bridges or,
Technician Diploma in Construction Technology or NCIC Grade II Roads Foremanship Certificate or Ministry of Works Certificate with at least five years experience in construction supervision of roads and bridges.

HIGHWAY ENGINEER (1 Position)

The successful applicant will report to the Resident Engineer

Key responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for
Carrying out measurement of works,
Checking out contractor’s payments and progress claims,
Maintain a record of measured works on site,
Production of weekly and monthly progress reports,
Supervising Inspectors of Works,
And general engineering duties.

Qualifications & Experience
BSc Degree in Civil Engineering,
Registered Graduate Engineer with the Malawi Engineering Institution,
Knowledge of use of FIDIC documents,
Minimum of 5 years work experience in road construction (supervision) Works,
Experience in the supervision of at least 5 road maintenance projects.

1. Introduction
Pamodzi Consulting Limited (PCL) - one of the leading Infrastructure Development Consultants in Southern Africa is looking for services of Inspectors of Works for Construction Supervision of a Road Project in Blantyre City.
2. Reporting
The successful candidate will report to the Resident Engineer.
• Conducting site inspections and reporting on the progress of construction projects.
• Ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with the approved design and specifications.
• Conducting quality control inspections and testing to ensure that materials and workmanship are of the required quality.
• Reviewing and commenting on contractor progress reports, and providing feedback on any areas for improvement.
• Monitoring construction schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaborating with other stakeholders, such as project managers, contractors, and suppliers, to resolve any issues or concerns.
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest construction techniques and standards.
• Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed on site.
• Any other duties assigned by Resident Engineer from time to time
3. Qualifications and Experience:
• Diploma in Civil Engineering with Five Years Experience in construction supervision of road and bridges
• Technician Diploma in Construction Technology / NCIC II with Ten Years Experience in construction supervision of road and bridges
