The second intervention, Parque Lineal, repurposes a long-abandoned riverbed into a desert-adapted linear park. Sculptural pedestrian bridges rise above native cactus gardens, connecting both sides of the city while offering panoramic views toward Cerro de la Campana. Shaded walkways, water features, and native landscaping promote active lifestyles and microclimate relief. The design carefully balances minimal intervention with bold civic expression—turning an urban scar into a green spine of health, culture, and connectivity.

Both projects reflect how architecture, landscape, and infrastructure can reclaim urban life, reframe climate, and build a more active and connected future.

Soles de Hermosillo | Hermosillo, Sonora
A bold reimagining of public space at the heart of the Sonoran desert.

This stadium rehabilitation project was part of a broader urban effort to confront some of Hermosillo’s most pressing challenges: a sedentary lifestyle, rising obesity rates, and extreme climate conditions.

The intervention included the expansion of the arena, a new running track, a climbing wall, and multiple outdoor amenities—transforming the stadium into an accessible, year-round hub for sport, health, and community.

Architecturally, the space opens to the city while sheltering from the sun—featuring a lightweight, breathable roof structure that filters natural light while creating a dramatic spatial experience. The new design celebrates movement and visibility, drawing people in and encouraging them to engage physically and socially.

A place to play, watch, and simply be—this is architecture as infrastructure for a healthier urban future.

Camino a Baja (2015)

In Baja California, where over 180,000 homes have been abandoned across the region , and the U.S. faces a staggering 15 million vacant homes , Camino a Baja reimagines these dormant structures as catalysts for regeneration.

This proposal repurposes an unfinished 20-story building along the Rosarito highway into a vertical farm and ocean-harvesting hub. By integrating agriculture and aquaculture, the project transforms the skeletal remains of halted development into a productive ecosystem, providing fresh produce, creating much-needed temporary jobs, and fostering community resilience along the border.

Camino a Baja challenges us to see potential where others see decay, turning symbols of economic downturn into beacons of sustainable innovation.

Rural housing and prefabrication has been widely explored, among the challenges are basic services (Water/Electricity), cost, building timing, durability and ease of construction (the methods and materials need to be simple since most of these areas have very little tools and they are usually built by their occupants (mostly families). A-FRAME attempts to solve most of these challenges by solving the whole habitat with 2 planes - the Roof. The basic idea consists of a kit of parts in which the 2 main planes are prefabricated with a lightweight durable recycled material with a hinge in between them. This same geometry is also employed for water collection with a gutter at the end of the sloping planes. The foundation comes prefabricated and the slab is formed with textile that makes it easy to transport and cost effective. The toilet and shower come in also in prefabricated modules that gives rigidity to the whole structure. Built-in furniture unfolds to make beds with storage underneath. A water tank can be placed underneath for water collection or storage and electricity is supplied though photovoltaic panels. @ Mexico City, Mexico
