[English below] Esta fue nuestra primera experiencia poniendo un techo de lámina.
Tardamos más de lo previsto pero aprendimos mucho. Agradecemos a Selma por el tiempo y el conocimiento que nos compartió y tambien por darnos un primer acercamiento a soldar y los procesos de poner un techo de lámina.

Estamos satisfechxs con el resultado de haber trabajado con metal y madera, en un principio elegimos estos materiales por lo económico pero al final terminamos contentxs con el resultado estético.

Este techo nos esta sirviendo para ampliar nuestro espacio de trabajo y así mejorar las condiciones del taller. Así que queremos agradecer a las personas que nos han donado y apoyado en este proyecto. Aun nos faltan muchas instalaciones y arreglos que gestionar así que si desean seguir apoyándonos aún están a tiempo (link en bio)

This was our first experience in putting up laminated roofing.
It took us a couple of days longer than expected, but we also learned a lot.

We want to thank Selma, (who helped us) for her time and skills, and for giving us a first glimpse at soldering and metal work. We'd also like to thank for the advice given on the design and structure.

We're really pleased with the result of building with both wood with metal, originally we chose this combination to lower expenses, but ended up really liking the aesthetics too.

The extra space serves us to expand the workshops capacity further and to improve our working conditions.

We'd like to thank everyone who has donated and supported us so far, without you this would not have been possible.

[english below] Este proyecto duró nueve meses, de inicio a fin. Hubo muchas complicaciones en el camino, por el tipo material tuvimos que hacer un cambio de diseño a la mitad de la construcción.

Durante esos nueve meses de proceso hubo muerte y luego transformaciónes y en medio de todo nació este proyecto, Polilla Cooperativa.

Terminar este escritorio implica un cierre de capitulo y el inicio de una nueva etapa que está por escribirse.

This project took nine months to complete, and encountered several complications along the way which eventually led to a design change half way through the build.

During these nine months there was the death of someone close, then there was transformation, and in the middle of it all Polilla Cooperativa was born.

Finishing this project is the closing of a chapter, whatever comes next for us is yet to be written.

Hola! Somos Polilla Cooperativa🐛, una carpintería artesanal y experimental formada por dos mujerxs. Queremos construir un espacio en el cual podamos compartir saberes, ideas y nutrir nuestros procesos creativos.
Ambas nos hemos encontrado con dificultades en el ámbito de la carpintería ya que este oficio es tradicionalmente dominado por hombres. Sin embargo, cada vez hay más mujeres y sexodisidentes en estos espacios, por lo que nos parece importante visibilizar y apoyar este tipo de proyectos, seguir abriendo brecha y hacer una red colaborativa entre nosotres les que practicamos diferentes oficios o técnicas.
Después de un año de trabajo en colaboración decidimos aventarnos a estructurar este proyecto, ya que para nosotras ser cooperativa significa el apoyo mutuo, un espacio de experimentación, aprendizaje y trabajo equitativo.
Estamos muy contentas de poder compartir este nuevo proyecto con ustedes, acompáñenos en este camino!

Hi! We are Polilla Cooperativa🐛, an artisanal and experimental carpentry project formed by two q***r womxn. We seek to build a space in which we can share knowledge, ideas and nurture our creative processes.
We have both encountered difficulties in the field of carpentry, a trade traditionally dominated by men. However, there are more and more women, q***r and trans people in these spaces. For us, it is important to make visible and support this type of project, to continue ´breaching the norm´, and to create a collaborative network among those of us who practice these different trades.
After a year of working together, we are building this cooperative, for us, it represents a space of mutual support, experimentation, learning, and equitable work.
We´re so happy to share this exciting new project with you, please join us along the way, in this process.
