Noise is not just uncomfortable. It can become an occupational health risk.
Factories and workplaces using compressors, generators, grinders, cutting equipment, stamping machines, production lines and other noisy machinery should understand their employees' actual noise exposure.
Under Malaysia's occupational noise requirements, excessive noise includes daily noise exposure above 82 dB(A) or daily personal noise dose above 50%, together with other specified limits.
A proper Noise Risk Assessment (NRA) helps determine:
β Where excessive noise exists
β Which employees are exposed
β How serious the exposure is
β Which machines or processes contribute to it
β What engineering or administrative controls may be required
β Whether hearing conservation measures are needed
Earplugs alone should not automatically be treated as the complete solution.
Advanced HSE Solutions provides workplace noise surveys, NRA support, noise mapping, control recommendations and compliance documentation.
If you're unsure about the noise level in your workplace, measure it before it becomes a bigger problem.
